"Sight Reading" and other stories
The seven stories that make up this collection explore the mind of the modern male and the way in which he accepts or rejects the challenges of everyday life. For example, "Sight Reading" tells the story of a seventeen year-old boy's varying, sometimes contradictory feelings in response to the death of an unpopular classmate. "Accidents Will Happen" is about a divorced father struggling to maintain his self-respect amidst the withering judgments of his sexually precocious thirteen year-old daughter, while "Steak and Egg," which rounds out the collection, is the strange account of one mans attempt to protect his young stepson from a playground bully. The author believes that, through exposure to these stories, the reader will reach a greater understanding of what it means to be a man in the 21st century.
