This is a collection of short and short-short stories based on themes of relationships, memory, loss and perception. In one story, a young man ponders the meaning of his mother's constant humming and discovers the many meanings of her song. In another story, a young man watches the first sunset of the summer with two holocaust survivors, with a knowledge that he too, must remember. In the title story, a man realizes the influence of Geography, both physical and emotional, on what he feels has been an unfulfilled life. The stories turn as much on what is not said, and focus on the silences that separate individuals. The characters' perceptions of the world, especially their perceptions of nature, often take the place of spoken words.
