Whisper

Whisper is a novella centered on the life of Michel, a listless young man living in Washington D.C. When a beautiful and dangerous woman named Frankie storms into the gas station where he works Michel finds himself set on a path of romantic and sexual misadventure. As his life devolves into a seemingly endless cycle of drunken debauchery, turbulent romance, and social isolation, Michel must come to terms with his inability to mold the world according to his romantic expectations. The rise and fall of his relationship to Frankie mirrors Michel's emotional development as he struggles to pin down an ever-elusive sense of self-satisfaction.
