We Went to the Masquerade Ball Dressed as Love is a collection of original poems meant to question what, how, and why we love. The collection, in four sections, includes "For our Lovers," an examination of unrequited and forbidden love and the consequences of those misloves, while "For our Progeny" explores the ways in which our care(lessness) gives our children the wherewithal to maneuver the world. "For our History" is an exploration of the true and imagined lives of the author's own ancestors, a questioning of why we hold such painful histories in such high regard. Finally, "For our Possessions" takes a look at the things we say "Mine! Mine! Mine!" to, like a selfish child.
