Urban county government: A survey of the Arlington County, Virginia, government

The objective of this research is to describe and analyze the governmental organization and administration of Arlington County, Virginia, with subsidiary problems involving urban county governmental authority, objectives, organization, planning, financial and personnel management, and public relations. Because the urban county represents a relatively new pattern of government in the United States, an intensive study of one urban county should contribute substantially to an understanding of the total urban problem.
