Time, Love, and Lunch

When people in all their variety are put into a work environment, strange things happen. This collection of linked short stories is an exploration of the ways people can work in close proximity to one another and still be strangers--or perhaps, know one another better than they know themselves. The narrative follows the lives of certain employees of Smith Collins Barnett, a retirement planning investment firm. Multiple characters take a turn at describing their lives, revealing their own insights about the people they work with, the office environment, and the nature of work itself. They love it; they hate it; they need it, and they keep coming back.
