Timber resources and the forest industries of Central America and the Caribbean area

This thesis comprises a study of the forest resources of Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Panama, and the Republics of Cuba, Haiti and Dominica. Its basic aim is to examine the forest resource base of these areas to determine in what manner forest products industries may be developed on an economically profitable basis. Special consideration shall be given to the actual type of wood available and the difficulties that through the years have impeded their development and utilization.
