The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree to which those who do counseling for marriage preparation and married life know the scientifically established findings on this area, and their attitudes towards these findings. The emphasis of the study is on persons (counselors), rather than on the institution (marriage). It is a social psychological study in that it examines the behavior of individuals in a particular activity (counseling on marriage preparation and married life), who come from a variety of educational, occupational, and social backgrounds.
