This thesis examines and analyzes the major issues of interactive technology, its relationship to the arts and impact on arts management. Issues raised by interactive technology, including copyright protection, emerging disciplines and performance venues are investigated. Study of current projects illustrates its application in arts education, fundraising and marketing, and audience development. Three current projects are analyzed: ArtsEdge, an interactive information network, Cyber-Clipper: A Transatlantic Technological Adventure, an interactive, multimedia art exhibition; and the work of musician and computer scientist, Dr. Roger Dannenberg.
