<p>Stalingrad, December. When the pull of Christian holidays and the homesickness sets in the strongest for a soldier, Father Georg Falkenrath finds himself trying to survive in the deep of a Russian winter. Surrounded by a cadre of different comrades including Reverend Jakob Raskopf, the dogmatic protestant chaplain and Father Emanuel Dreher, a WWI veteran. Georg has to grapple with questions of morality, God, grace, and the Nazi war machine that he finds himself a part of.</p>
