The cooperative public relations program of the railroad industry began, as an activity of the Association of American Railroads, in June, 1936. The first decade of that program, covering the period to June, 1946, is described in Public Relations and the Railroads, published by the Association of AMerican Railroads in August, 1946. The second decade, covering the period June, 1946, to June, 1956, is the subject of this thesis.
