The Program Budget of the Reserve Merchant Fleet of the United States, Reserve Fleet Activities, Department of Commerce

Whereas the budget estimates of the Maritime Administration - Federal Maritime Board, Department of Commerce, are currently made on an organizational structure basis, certain activities within the agency can be more readily expressed and easily understood for fiscal purposes in terms of a program budget. One such activity is the Reserve Fleet program of the Maritime Administration which involves all of the steps necessary to protect, preserve and maintain the government-owned merchant fleet in a stand-by emergency status.
