The Power Resources of the U.S.S.R

In a planned economy, the problem of the geographical distribution of power resources has great significance. Research work in this field is directed toward the following: Analysis of the principles and factors determining the utilization of potential resources and the distribution of industry and its various branches in relation to the location of power resources; analysis of the process of forming industrial basis in the USSR and concrete analysis of the changes in distribution - both by region and by branches of industry which has taken place during the last two decades under the pressure of necessity for proximate power resources or by political influences.
