The O'Riordan Boys
The O'Riordan Boys is an original novel set in the fictional town of New Canaan, Massachusetts, between Christmas and New Year's 1999-2000. The story focuses on Francis O'Riordan, 27, an adjunct college writing professor with a failing marriage who lives in the dilapidated cottage he grew up in, and has yet to tell his wife Miriam that he has just lost his job. These tensions come to a head when Francis' long-lost (and possibly criminal) brother Garran shows up to spend the holiday. The two haven't spoken in five years. As the turn of the century approaches, Francis will have to re-evaluate his relationships, his goals, and his identity. Attempting to bridge both comedy and tragedy, The O'Riordan Boys tells the story of a man, a region, and a country in flux.
