The Need of Psychology and Philosophy in the Curriculum of the Preacher

The subject has such direct bearing upon the preacher's mind and its development, and so related to the chief functions of his office as an interpreter of the Scriptures, its doctrines and problems; and so related to the adjustments of the personality to the phenomenal and ontological orders, and the mental, moral and spiritual problems of life, as to at once compel the attention of every preacher and of every prospective preacher. I shall follow the natural order and divide my subject into its psychological and philosophical aspects respectfully.
