The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate the economic effects of a Food Allotment Plan under varying economic conditions, with the principal emphasis on the effects on farm income and inadequate diets. It is hoped that, by giving some indication of the effects of such a program under different conditions, this paper will throw some light on the broader question of the value of the Plan as a measure of public policy. The economic effects of any such plan are certainly of major importance in making a decision as to whether or not it should be adopted, and it is hoped that some guides have been given here which may be of assistance in the consideration.
