The affirmation of this thesis is: The justification of Christian Ethics is demonstrated in terms of life. Christian Ethics may be defined as the science of living according to Christianity. Christianity has proved to he a great creative force in the life of the world, and its chief function and value consist in its contribution to morality. Christian Ethics does not follow an abstract theory of virtue, but proceeds from a creative person. That person is Jesus Christ. Christianity was first known as a way of life. The life of its Founder was such that he holds the supreme place in the realm of ethics. Jesus came that men might have a more abundant life. The life which he teaches men to live is a life crowned with moral excellence. Letting one's light shine before men is for the purpose of revealing to them good works.
