The Influences of Confucianism and Christianity upon Korean Education

Although many radical changes have been made in Korean education during the past generation, there are still a number of elements of the old mixed with the new. It does not mean, however, that everything which is old is evil and everything which is modern is good. The more democratic and intelligent leaders of the country are trying to retain the best of the old and at the same time to introduce those modern ideas and ideals which will be adaptable and universal in application. For these reasons a study giving a comparison of the more important influences on Korean education policy may be useful.
