The Election of 1896

This study of the "election of 1896" is necessarily approached from the viewpoints of the conflicting Democratic factions since the Hanna Manuscripts have long since mysteriously disappeared and the McKinley Manuscripts are not own available for examination by the majority of established historians. Also, although the election of 1896 was closely bound about by economic factors, this study is primarily a politico-historical one and no appraisal of the economic elements as such has been essayed.
