The Economic Concept of Public Interest

It is the purpose of this thesis to trace the development of the concept of "public interest" from the mediaeval down to the present. For the most part the study will be a comparison between the concepts of "public interest" with that of "private interest". As we follow the trend from one set of conditions to another, it will be pointed out how closely allied and singularly dependent one set of factors is upon another.
