Organization and Scope of StudySelection of the three countries for this study of wartime and postwar factors affecting the movement of cost of living indexes was made on the basis of the varying economic impact of the war. France is representative of countries directly in the path of war in both the degree of physical destruction sustained and the extent of the resultant disorganization of her economy.
