The Anglo Japanese Alliance

It seems inconceivable that the general background of the Anglo-Japanese Alliance centered in China rather than in the domain of either Great Britain or Japan. This was of course the case, for China before the conclusion of the alliance was the center of international rivalry in the securing and in the establishing of sphere of influence by the European Powers.
