The 1952 International Press Services for South America

It was the purpose of this study (1) to investigate the major problems confronting the United States government in South America in 1952; and (2) to evaluate the effectiveness of the International Press Services medium of the overseas information program in promoting the foreign policy of the United States in South America. In exploring the problems, the following areas will be considered in particular: United States foreign policy for South America in 1952, opposition to that policy within South America, the IPS output designed to support and implement policy, and an analysis of the output and its effectiveness. The study will also attempt to point up some findings that should be of value.
