The primary objective of this thesis is to explore Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher's foreign policy and how it affects Britain's role in Europe's changing political landscape. In answering this question, this work begins by tracing Mrs. Thatcher's clean break from traditional British Conservatism. It then explains Mrs. Thatcher's grievance with the European Community over the future of national sovereignty. In closing, this project weighs the pros and cons of Mrs. Thatcher's political philosophy and its political relevance in Europe today.
