Many studies have been done in the field of teaching creative dance for young children and the results show that creative dance is an important part of young children's developmental and cognitive learning. This thesis analyzes two different dance curricula developed for pre-school children. One dance curriculum was developed by Rima Faber for the studio she owns and operates, called Primary Movers. The other dance curriculum was developed by the Wolf Trap Institute for Early Learning and is used by all the artists who teach creative dance. This author relates this work to broader theories of cognitive psychology and creative dance, and proposes a dance curriculum for use in Taiwan.
