Studies in the literary narrative of the Old Testament

The purpose of this study is to examine certain literary aspects of Old Testament Narrative. The only detailed study will be made of the plot, character, settings and style. This will be given in connection with two special types of the literary narrative; the Epic Story, the Story of Joseph and the Idyl, the Story of Ruth. In making such a study we shall be able to realize that as a literary production the Bible has no equal and that from the standpoint of composition it can stand the tests of modern criticism. It will make us approach it with a new interest, understanding and appreciation.
