The Poetry in this volume is compiled from older and more recently completed works. Many of the assembled poems are about human determination, the experiential limitations of nature, the politics of sexuality, and the conflicting directions in which males of the late Twentieth Century feel themselves pulled. They are arranged in sub-units entitled "Young Men," "Dimmer Hours," "Strange Dust" and "Strange Places," and are thematically linked to the structure which those sectional sub-titles suggest. While not necessarily linked each to the subject of those sub-titles, the reader may find linkages in tone, voice, language or treatment which may lead to a better understanding of the works in part or in whole.
