State regulation of the hours of work in private enterprise: An exploratory study

The theme of this study is an analysis, as of January 1, 1939, of the coverage of hour regulations in the twenty largest states of the United States. Included within its scope are all those regulations which cover either men alone or all workers, regardless of sex or age, in private industry.
