She Carried the Earth Home

She Carried the Earth Home is an original novella that focuses on a young woman, Olivia Gid-Oni, and her return from the U.S. to Caracas, Venezuela, where she was raised as a child. She has returned after a long absence because of the impending death of her maternal grandfather, Roberto. During her stay in Caracas, Olivia reminisces about her family's past, the immense change the country has suffered since the election of Hugo Chavez, and the uncertainties of her identity and the place she had regarded and idealized as her home.
