posted on 2023-08-03, 13:46 authored by Aaron Neal SheddArlington County, located south-west across the Potomac River from the District of Columbia, has developed within the past twenty years from a County with a number of unincorporated villages into an integrated urban area. Prior to this development it was known primarily for its National Cemetery.History has shown that a community in which a governmental seat is located rarely decreases in population but continues to grow. Arlington County's growth in population has paralleled that of the Nation's Capital, with the greatest period of growth beginning with World War II. This growth has continued to date.
