Renormalization group calculation has been directly applied to fluid theory to evaluate the critical phenomena of gases by Dr. John White in the 1980s. Starting from the most basic intermolecular forces, this theory uses phase cell approximation to take into account the contribution of fluctuations to free energy, especially those fluctuations due to limited-range attractive forces. Since Radial Distribution Function (RDF) plays an important role in molecular interactions, especially when molecules are in close range, a more complete renormalization group theory requires the consideration of the effects of RDF. This dissertation will show what effects RDF has on the renormalization group theory and how it can be incorporated into the current theory to obtain better experimental results.
