There are in the United States today hundreds of organizations with objectives related to the improvement of intergroup and interethnic relations. Their sponsorship and direction are both public and private. Public and private commissions, boards, or committees at the national, state, and local level may be found with duties directly concerned with finding means of establishing and maintaining harmonious relations between the numerous minority groups in the United States.
