There are more foreign diplomats at work in the United States today than anywhere else in the world. They are located mainly in Washington, where 75 foreign countries have established either embassies or legations, and in New York, where the United Nations maintains its headquarters with its sixty-member delegations. Furthermore the consulates of these 75 countries, which are supervised and controlled by their respective embassies in Washington, are the be found in the various cities of the forty-eight states.
