Proposed Revision of the D.C. Code for the Commitment of the Insane

Washington is the seat of the Government of the United States. Therefore, all other cities look to the Nation's Capitol as a model, not only in law, government and social endeavor but, also in the field of medicine, especially public health. Mental medicine is now recognized as a major branch of medicine. It is interesting to observe that mental health is being considered now on a world-wide scale and that for the first time, specialists from the four corners of the earth will assemble in Washington, D.C., May 5 - 10, 1930, and study and discuss mental hygiene in every phase.
