Problems of Security for Farmers in the United States, with a Case Study on the Extension of Social Security to Farmers in Maryland

All people want security. This desire is a motivating force responsible for economic growth of agriculture, business and industry in the United States. This study is devoted to an analysis of the security status of farmers, an appraisal of the desirability of extending social security, especially the old age and survivors insurance program, to farmers, an evaluation of the possible need for such action and a summary of the attitudes of farmers about the extension of social security to farmers as obtained in the case study of Maryland farmers.
