Post World War II Program of German Reparations
The purpose of this thesis is to review the various measures undertaken by the Occupying Powers of Germany after World War II to compensate in part the losses incurred by those countries which contributed considerably in the successful prosecution of the war with Germany. In addition, an attempt is made to explain in detail the complex international machinery set up for the purpose of distributing the proceeds of reparation to qualified countries on an equitable basis. There is also a description of the various types of reparation paid by Western Germany to the victorious powers as well as summary tables which give the types and quantities of reparation distributed to the various recipient countries. U.S.S.R. receipts are not dealt with in this paper due to the lack of information regarding Soviet receipts in East Germany.
