These poems, written in the years 1986 through 1990, treat themes such as singles' life, office work, memory, satire, and the irrational. The primary influences on the poems were William Carlos Williams and Robert Lowell; the "New York School" (O'Hara, Ashbery, Koch); the French Surrealists; and various experimental writers (Stein, Simon, Bernstein).
