Physical Education in Accredited Private Secondary Schools for Girls in the District of Columbia
The object of this study is to consider the organization, administration and the programs of study in physical education for girls in the fifteen accredited private secondary high schools in the District of Columbia. In a community of the type of the capitol of the United States, where a body come together for social and cultural purpose, it is to be expected that the private schools as well as those which are public should take a special interest in the physical development of the student body. This is particularly true of the girls. In view of the growing importance of physical training in the development of young women, it was thought that a critical study of the facilities for physical training for girls would be of service to the different schools and would aid in improving standards of training and be a greater incentive to the support of this type of education.
