Peacefully, Go is a collection of seven original short stories that explore the relationships between Korean mothers and their daughters. These stories emphasize the themes of displacement, separation and connection, as Korean-born mothers raise their daughters in America and attempt to reconcile conflicting worlds. The barriers of culture, language and values disrupt these relationships, but at the same time the clash of values is essential in order for them to understand each other. Peacefully, Go is a collection of voices. These voices tell stories that have no beginnings and no endings; rather, these voices are heard and hopefully recognized by both American and Korean cultures.
