Our Future Food Supply and the Dairy Cow

The title of this thesis, or dissertation, is "Our Future Food Supply and the Dairy Cow." It is the purpose of the writer to show that there is not now and need not ever be, at least in the next hundred years, a shortage of dairy products for our people if we but put into practice what we already know regarding production, distribution, and conservation. To prove the proposition as stated in the thesis title, quotations from the highest authorities will be given and secondary data from various sources will be used; but the writer will rely mostly upon tabulations of primary data which have been checked, coded, punched, sorted, and tabulated under his direction. In making some of these studies, more than one hundred thousand yearly individual cow records were used, all of which were made on practical dairy farms and under normal farm conditions.
