The term "orientation" is used, in this study, to describe any activity which serves to facilitate a government-sponsored visitor's comprehension of the United States in its broad aspects, and his adjustment to living in a new environment. In this sense, orientation should continue from arrival to departure; in fact is should and occasionally does, start considerably before arrival.
