During the Weimar Republic one of the slogans employed by the opponents of the National Socialist Party was "Hitler means war." This was a conclusion which anybody could easily draw from reading the Party Program and Hitler's Mein Kampf. The Nazis have never made a secret of their expansionist program, which would determine policy once3 they came to power. After this goal had been reached on January 30, 1933, when Hindenburg appointed Hitler Reich Chancellor, the policy of expansionism was carried into effect step by step.
