The present investigation is a study of certain aspects of the development of motor coordination in young children. It is concerned with the effects of specific practice anon the motor skill involved in tracing the Porteus diamond pencil maze. Fundamentally it is hoped that the results may throw some light on the problem of the importance of specific practice on the increase of motor skills as compared with the effect of other factors such as maturation and general practice.
