Library Public Relations Programs: A Survey of Current Practices in Public Libraries in the United States

The public library in the United States is as much a community institution as the school, the church, and the bank. Objectives of library service which have been set forth by librarians in the past decade, and approved by the American Library Association as official goals, emphasize the role of the library in providing for the educational and recreational needs of the citizens that support it.
