Learning How To Talk is a book of poems meant to offer the reader a discovery of love and cultural difference. This discovery is made from a millennial, Cambodian American standpoint. Through scenes involving such themes as food, race, and teaching, these poems illustrate events influenced by the perspective of a family that has been through trauma. We learn by listening. We learn by teaching. We learn by speaking. We learn to talk by thinking. The poems land in a place where the speaker learns how to talk in a world that is filled with noise.
