Just to Make Certain
Just to Make Certain is an original collection of short stories, which seeks, through alternating male and female perspectives, to investigate the interior landscape of difficult love and its manifestation in day to day life. The trajectory of the collection is chronological: from a recent college-graduate in her mid-twenties experiencing sexual promiscuity to an aging wife suffering from Alzheimer's, each story depicts the oftentimes problematic intersections between love and everyday life. The stories are all "small" stories---incorporating only a few characters and oftentimes spanning only a few hours. This smallness is intended to submerge the reader in the interiority of character, and the hardships and pleasures of characters involved in the difficulties of love and change.
