Hole

A coming of age story. A love story---the unnatural love of a mother for her son. The son's obsessive love of jazz and blues music. Love between men. The reconciled love between father and son. People get stuck in a rut and never seem to be able to find a way out of the daily grind, out of hurt, out of disappointment. Hole is one man's journey out of that rut. Hole is about people escaping their lives through the power of music. Hole is also about how the blues and jazz tradition is ignored or often forgotten by the people and places from which it originates and how the two are often co-opted and profited by the mainstream, and except for the devotion of an endangered few, is nearly dead and extinct.
