History of Education in Thailand

Education, in the modern sense of the word, began in Thailand only slightly over one hundred years ago. The decade of opening of the first schools in Thailand coincides with the opening of the west in the United States of America, with the important difference that Thailand the art of printing itself unknown when the first printing presses were being carried westward over the prairies of the United States.
