Gross Anatomy

This thesis is in expectation of a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing. Gross Anatomy is the story of Celia, a young woman in her first year of medical school who loses her mother to a battle with cancer. Celia must persevere in her ambitions while dealing with the grief that lingers in her family and causes her to question her own life. She tries to maintain composure in the Gross Anatomy lab, facing death in its most agonizing state---by attempting to explain human life. Celia's story is one of familial love and personal reflection as she searches for a way to heal with past loves and new possibilities shaking up her path to recovery.
