Grace and Rhythm. (Original short stories)
The six stories in Grace and Rhythm explore the idea of communication between people. How do we receive information? How does it emanate from us? What effect does honesty and the evaluation of another's intentions have on us?; Whether set in this country, in a foreign land, or in an imaginary realm, these stories concern themselves with language and its relationship to itself as much as to human beings. What exists between us and our pursuit of what keeps us alive? What connects our desires to our actions and our inaction?; Above all, these stories are about themselves. Writing can be described as a process of, a product of, and a matter of "Grace and Rhythm." In a perfect sentence, a writer should feel he is witnessing the first moment of his life, but he should describe it as though it were his last.
